1. Black tea is among the richest in anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants are known to lower the risk of cancer, decrease the risk of stroke, and lower cholesterol levels. Black tea also contains trace amounts of various nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, vitamins C and K, and the amino acid theanine. Recent studies show that drinking black tea daily helps to prevent narrowed or clogged arteries that lead to ischemic heart disease, heart attack or stroke. It was also shown to reduce LDL-cholesterol.
2. Green tea is a powerhouse scavenger of deadly free radicals. Free radicals are powerful oxidants that cause intense cell damage leading to diseases and/or cancer. The anti-oxidants in green tea slow or prevent cell damage by creating a barrier around cell tissue. Green Tea leaves also contain vitamins A, B and K, and are a good source of bioflavonoids like Vitamin P.
3. White tea has even greater concentrations of the polyphenols that are found in green tea. Polyphenols help destroy bacteria and other organisms that cause disease.

Tea Brewing Instructions
Use fresh or filtered water for best tea tasting results. When steeped in hot water, tea leaves release their taste, color and then tannin. Tannin is a natural component of tea. When released, tannin makes tea taste bitter or astringent. Tannin is released from steeped tea leaves after 3-5 minutes depending if tea is green, white, black or oolong. Tea should be poured into teacups after appropriate time so that the leaves do not remain in hot water and tannin does not affect the drink’s delicate taste. Herbal teasans contain no tannin and may remain in hot water without their taste being altered.
